What you make on Vyenne is personal. Here, in plain words, is what we collect, what we do with it, and how to get rid of it. If anything's unclear, email founder@vyenne.com - a person reads and answers. We follow UK data protection law (UK GDPR).
No one else using Vyenne can see your library, your preferences, or anything you make. We never sell your data, and none of it is used for advertising. Limited access by us and the providers listed below - solely to run the service and keep it safe - is described in full on this page.
Vyenne is run by VOX NOVA LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17406116), whose registered office is at 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ. VOX NOVA LTD is the data controller for the personal data described here.
Face ID (or your device passcode) locks the app when you step away. The check is performed by Apple, on your device; the app learns only whether the unlock succeeded. Your Face ID data stays on your device and never reaches us.
Your tastes are choices about fiction, and we treat them as personal. We handle them as follows:
We use your data to:
We rely on our contract with you when processing is needed to provide Vyenne. We rely on our legitimate interests when keeping the service safe, preventing misuse, and fixing faults. We rely on legal obligations where the law requires us to keep or disclose information.
We use service providers to run Vyenne. Each receives only the data needed for its role.
Your account and library live in London. To write, narrate and illustrate a story, its inputs travel to the US-based AI providers described above. For those transfers we rely on recognised safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or standard contractual clauses. Email founder@vyenne.com if you want more information about those safeguards.
While your account is open, we keep your account details, library and saved choices so Vyenne remains available to you. Operational logs are normally deleted after 30 days. Safety records may be kept longer where needed to investigate misuse, enforce our terms or meet a legal obligation.
You can delete your account from inside the app at any time. Your account closes immediately, and the full purge completes within 28 days. Deletion removes your email, date of birth, preferences, limits, listening history, and everything else that identifies you. Any later account starts afresh.
After account deletion, generated story text, cover art and audio are retained without your account identifier. They can no longer be linked to your account, and your library is permanently removed. Ratings and feedback are retained on the same basis. We also retain a limited record confirming completion of the deletion so we can demonstrate compliance with data protection law.
Under UK GDPR you can ask us to:
Email founder@vyenne.com and we'll respond within a month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled something, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Vyenne is for people aged 18 and over. You confirm your date of birth at sign-up, and the app carries an 18+ rating. It isn't for children, and we don't knowingly hold data about anyone under 18 - if we learn we do, we'll delete the account.
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access controls prevent other users from reading your records and limit access by us and our providers to what is needed to run Vyenne. On your phone, the app locks when you leave it and asks for Face ID or your device passcode to reopen. No system is perfectly secure.
Vyenne is a public beta, so we may update this policy as the service develops. If a change matters to you, we'll tell you in the app before it takes effect.
